Celebrating the Inspirational Volunteers of the Special Constabulary

Introduction:

From Sussex Police  : In honor of #VolunteersWeek, we’d like to take a moment to recognize and thank the amazing people who give their time and energy to serve as volunteers in our Special Constabulary. These amazing volunteers are an important part of local law enforcement and have a big effect on the communities they serve. Today, we’re going to talk about one of these volunteers, Special Sergeant Dom Parris. He’ll talk about his amazing 14-year journey and explain why he keeps coming back.

The Unbreakable Promise:

Special Sergeant Dom Parris has been an important part of our Special Constabulary for more than ten years. When asked what makes him want to keep serving, Dom says that the role’s variety and lack of predictability keep him interested and excited. Every shift brings new challenges and experiences, like answering emergency calls or figuring out what the most important things are in the area. Dom talks about how a blue light run gives him a rush of adrenaline, how satisfying it is to help victims and witnesses, and how the job is always changing, which makes each day different and rewarding.

Skills that can be used elsewhere and Valuable Contributions:

Dom also says that his day job, which is not related to policing, has given him skills that help him in his role as a volunteer. As a member of the Special Constabulary, he can make a real difference because of his professional skills and his desire to help people. Dom is very proud that he can use his skills to help the Sussex Police and make the local community safer and better off.

The core of local law enforcement:

The volunteers in our Special Constabulary are the heart and soul of local police work. Their unwavering commitment, kindness, and selflessness are admirable. Through their hard work, they not only make our police force more effective, but they also build stronger relationships between the police and the communities they serve. They are the best way to show what #VolunteersWeek is all about.

A Thankful Thank You:

On this special day, we want to thank all of the Special Constabulary volunteers from the bottom of our hearts for their hard work and dedication. Their important work makes the world a safer and more secure place for everyone. Their dedication to helping the community is an inspiration to others, and we’re proud to have such amazing people in our group.

Conclusion:

As #VolunteersWeek comes to an end, we honor the amazing volunteers of our Special Constabulary, like Special Sergeant Dom Parris. We have the utmost respect and admiration for their selfless service, unwavering dedication, and important contributions to local law enforcement. We will always be thankful for what they do for our communities, and we encourage others to think about volunteering as a way to help make the world a better place.
