In an effort to ensure road safety and enforce traffic regulations, a comprehensive Traffic Enforcement Exercise was conducted along the East Coast road corridor in Police Division 4C on Easter Monday.

Spearheaded by ASP Primus, ASP Benn, Inspector Gobin, Sergeant Scott, Sergeant Leitch, and Sergeant Goodridge, along with a team of dedicated officers, the operation yielded significant results.

During the exercise, which took place between 15:15 and 23:20 hours, several motorcyclists were apprehended for various offences. A total of 38 cases of unlicensed driving were recorded, highlighting a concerning trend of individuals operating vehicles without proper authorization. Additionally, 38 individuals were found to be in violation of safety regulations by failing to wear helmets while riding.

Furthermore, officers identified 31 uncertified motor vehicles and 33 instances of motorcycles being driven without a valid license. Failures to adhere to basic safety standards, such as carrying reflecting mirrors, were also noted, with five individuals found in breach of this requirement. Additionally, one case of an obscured identification mark was documented.

As a result of these enforcement efforts, a total of 38 motorcycles were impounded, further emphasizing the seriousness with which authorities are tackling traffic violations. The operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement
