President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, accompanied by Minister Deodat Indar and other Cabinet members, conducted a walkabout at Farm and Mocha to address community concerns and announce significant infrastructure development. During the visit, the President engaged with residents and provided solutions to various issues.

President Ali emphasized the commitment of the PPP/C Government to fulfilling promises made to Mocha residents. A substantial investment of $400 million has been allocated for roadworks in the community. The upcoming road projects include the upgrading of cross streets at Farm, where barriers will be installed to prevent damage from large tonnage trucks. Additionally, roadworks are planned for Herstelling and Covent Garden streets, focusing on areas with 75% or more occupancy, similar to the approach in Farm.

Addressing water-related challenges in Mocha, President Ali announced plans for the construction of two wells and a water treatment plant to serve the community. This initiative aims to alleviate water woes and ensure reliable water supply for residents. A mobile pump will also be stationed in Mocha to enhance drainage and irrigation for local farmers.

President Ali expressed a holistic approach to community development, recognizing the interconnectedness of infrastructure, water supply, and agriculture. Minister Indar and the Agriculture Minister are scheduled to return to Mocha within the next week to follow up on various issues raised by residents.
