We wish to inform our valued customers that a new 20 MVA Power Transformer has been secured to replace the defective transformer at our Edinburgh Substation. The installation is scheduled for Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

Time: 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM
Affected Areas: Edinburgh, West Coast Demerara, to Naamryck, East Bank Essequibo

To facilitate the safe installation of the new transformer, the entire Edinburgh Substation must be de-energized. This will result in intermittent service interruptions for customers in the specified areas during the mentioned timeframe.

Preparation works have already commenced on-site to expedite the installation process and minimize the duration of service interruptions. Please refer to the attached photo for an overview of the ongoing preparations.
