Woman robbed at knifepoint in front of home

A woman was robbed at knifepoint in front of her Stanley Place and David Street home in Kitty, Georgetown, on Sunday.
Police said that the incident occurred around 10:50h when the a 29-year-old woman, was confronted by two men on a black trip motorcycle, as she was about to enter her yard.
The woman who is a chef was relieved of a black handbag valued at $6,000 which contained $15,000, personal documents, and an Apple iPhone 11 pro max valued at $200,000.
It was reported that as the woman was about to enter her yard one of the bandits placed a knife to her neck while the other raised his t-shirt, showing her what appeared to be a firearm in his waist. She told police she became fearful and released the bag containing her belongings.
The perpetrators then fled the scene, heading south along Stanley Place on their motorcycle.
A police sergeant, who was seated in his vehicle at the corner of Stanley Place and Gordon Street, observed the robbery and he exited his vehicle, armed with his service weapon, and discharged three rounds in the direction of the fleeing suspects. Despite his efforts, the robbers managed to escape south along Vlissengen Road.
Police have questioned several individuals and identified a CCTV camera in the area to review the footage. Multiple health institutions have also been visited in search of the suspects, Police said. Investigations are continuing. (G9)
