Terensha Pierre, a 9-year-old girl from Barima Nobo, Region One, tragically passed away after sustaining injuries in an accident on Monday afternoon. The Grade Five pupil of Hosororo Primary School was struck by a motorcar while crossing the road at Mabaruma Compound around 15:30 hrs.

According to a relative, Terensha would usually spend time with them after school until her mother arrived to pick her up. On the day of the accident, she had crossed the road and was heading to a shop after collecting money when the car hit her.

The relative recounted that after being struck, the driver of the car reportedly ran over Terensha, who was flung a distance away. Despite efforts to rush her to Georgetown Public Hospital for further medical care, she tragically succumbed to her injuries on the way.
