Taxi Driver Shot by Younger Brother in Domestic Dispute

Lawrence Fanfair, a 38-year-old taxi driver residing in Castello Housing Scheme, La Penitance, Georgetown, is recovering from a gunshot wound to his left thigh after an altercation with his younger brother.
According to a statement from Police Headquarters, the incident occurred around 23:00 hrs on Thursday. Fanfair and his brother, Rendell Vanrassum, 32, who is currently unemployed, live at the same address.
The dispute reportedly stemmed from a disagreement over a woman with whom Fanfair had a relationship. Tensions escalated, leading to a heated exchange between the siblings.
During the confrontation, Fanfair, who was seated outside the house, was approached by Rendell, who brandished a black handgun from his waistband and fired a shot, striking Lawrence in the left thigh.
Delays in Justice for Slain Police Sergeant Raise Concerns
In an effort to evade further harm, Lawrence managed to escape and fled in an unknown direction. He was later found by relatives and transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he is currently admitted in the male medical ward. His condition is reported as stable.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, which remains ongoing.
