Rastaman Apprehended at Bagotville with 69 grams of Marijuana

An operation led by law enforcement officers from Regional Division number 3 resulted in the apprehension of a suspect found in possession of 69.3 grams of Marijuana in Bagotville, West Bank Demerara, at approximately 19:45 hrs last evening.
An Assistant Superintendent of Police, a Detective Sergeant, and four other ranks were on a routine vehicular patrol when their attention was drawn to a Rastafarian individual near the ‘Famo’ shop. The suspect, upon sighting the police vehicle, attempted to evade the officers by fleeing towards the rear of the yard.
Swiftly responding to the situation, the police ranks initiated pursuit and successfully apprehended the individual, who was carrying a haversack on his back. A search of the haversack revealed multiple ziplock bags containing a quantity of suspected Cannabis.
Upon being informed of the allegations, the suspect, identified as Naasson Henry, 23, of Vauxhal Canal number 1 Polder, responded, stating, “I does just do a fine thing.” He was promptly arrested and escorted to the La Grange Police Station for further processing.
At the station, the suspected Cannabis was weighed in the presence of the apprehended individual, totaling 69.3 grams. Naasson Henry is now in custody, pending further investigation, and is expected to face charges related to the possession of illegal substances.
