Rallying Together for Kelly Wong Fight Against Breast Cancer

Introduction:

Hi everyone! I’m Ritch Lau, City Councillor of Markham, and I’m reaching out to you today with an urgent and heartfelt appeal. My dear friend, Kelly Wong, has recently been diagnosed with advanced stage 4 breast cancer, and I’ve started this GoFundMe campaign to provide crucial financial support to Kelly, her young son Casper, and her partner Kaho Chan. Kelly’s strength and determination to survive for her family have inspired us all, and we are rallying together to help her in this challenging journey.

A Devastating Diagnosis:

In March 2023, Kelly’s life took an unexpected turn when she was rushed to the hospital with severe symptoms, including relentless vomiting and headaches. The diagnosis was devastating: Kelly had advanced metastasized breast cancer that had spread throughout her body, including her brain, bones, lymph nodes, lungs, and liver. The prognosis was grim, and doctors advised her family to prepare for the worst. However, Kelly defied the odds by undergoing a high-risk brain surgery that lasted an entire day. Though she now bears a large scar on her head and requires rehabilitation, she emerged from the surgery alive.

A Warrior’s Journey:

Since April, Kelly wong has been undergoing hormonal, chemotherapy, and radiation therapies while bravely caring for her precious son Casper, who is just 8 months old. Kelly’s journey has been marked by pain, immobility, and countless challenges. Yet, her determination to extend her time and be there for her son has kept her fighting against all odds. Despite her past hardships, including growing up without a mother and enduring multiple miscarriages, Kelly wong has always held onto her dream of having a family. Now, with a difficult battle ahead, she needs our support more than ever.

Supporting Kelly’s Fight:

Kelly Wong partner, Kaho, has quit his job to become the primary caregiver for Kelly and Casper. As a community, we can make a difference in their lives during this challenging time.
