Forgery Charges Brought Against West Coast Berbice Resident and Wortmanville Resident

Eon Barrow, a resident of West Coast Berbice, and Leasel Bamfield, residing at GG Hadfield Street, Wortmanville, appeared before Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday. The duo faced charges of conspiracy to commit a felony.
It is alleged that between December 1, 2023, and January 5, 2024, with the intent to defraud, Barrow and Bamfield, along with others unknown, forged one driver’s license and reported the forged document to the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA). Additionally, they are accused of forging one Guyana Identification Card number in favor of Youlani Gittens.
During the court appearance, Barrow and Bamfield were not required to enter a plea, and they were each granted $75,000 bail for the charges. The case has been adjourned to January 29, 2024.
