CAC Championship: Bodybuilding Federation eyeing tangible support from corporate Guyana

  • by

The Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GBBFF) is calling on Guyanese businesses to support the upcoming 51st Central America and Caribbean (CAC) Fitness and Bodybuilding Championship to be hosted in Guyana.

The mega event is slated for October 17-24. According to president of the GBBFF Keavon Bess, it brings immense value to Guyana, hence an opportunity for corporate Guyana to tap in and benefit.

This marquee event makes its return to Guyana after two decades. Guyana last hosted the championship in 2004.

Hundreds of athletes and officials are expected to descend on the country, with estimates suggesting over 300 participants from 25 nations.

The CAC Championship holds immense prestige, being the region’s premier bodybuilding event.  It even grants coveted IFBB Elite Pro-Cards to overall winners, attracting the sport’s top competitors.

Bess highlighted the economic benefits for local businesses, while urging increased support to create a truly iconic and memorable event.

While the government, through the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport and the National Sports Commission, has pledged its backing, most athletes will shoulder their own travel and accommodation costs.

This creates an opportunity for corporate Guyana to make contributions and gain significant visibility during the event.
