  • by

A 19-year-old man died on Friday after he was electrocuted when the gutter he was lifting came in into contact with electrical wires.

Dead is Bryan Hardial of Covent Garden, East Bank Demerara.

According to a statement from Police Headquarters, Hardial and a 53-year-old colleague were sent by their company to carry out the gutter installation on a three-storey building which is currently under construction on Norton Street, Georgetown.

The colleague related to the Police that he was on the ground floor and Hardial was on the third floor, lifting an aluminum gutter, when the material came into contact with electrical wires on the lamp pole.

As a result, Hardial was electrocuted and fell to the ground floor.

At the time, Police said Hardial was not wearing any protective gear.
