The updated code of conduct, which will be prominently displayed across all company-owned locations in North America, outlines clear behavioral expectations including prohibitions on discrimination, harassment, outside alcohol consumption, smoking, vaping, drug use, and solicitation.

“We want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable in our stores,” said Starbuck spokesperson Jaci Anderson. “By setting clear expectations for behavior and use of our spaces, we can create a better environment for everyone.”

The new guidelines align Starbuck with standard retail industry practices. Store employees will receive comprehensive training on policy enforcement, with protocols in place for addressing violations, including the option to involve law enforcement when necessary.

This policy change represents Starbucks’ ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all paying customers while maintaining store standards and operations.
