Guyana’s premier full-service event rental company, Star Rentals, has returned as a major sponsor of the Kares One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast.
Given the success of the inaugural edition, Star Rentals opted to raise their support by sponsoring the G$1.5M first prize for season two.
In a statement on Friday, the company expressed immense happiness in partnering with the tournament again, owing to the excellent marketing value it brought in 2023.
“It was an unknown venture in 2023, and it proved to be an excellent investment, not necessarily for us as a company with a deep passion for sport, especially cricket, but to see young people express their talents.
To see so many people flock to the matches, especially the final, was truly unique, and we certainly want to be part of that again more significantly,” the statement indicated.
Star Rentals has also committed to playing a lead role in the Cricket for Charity match, which, thanks to the efforts of President Dr. Irfaan Ali, raised over G$20M for the less fortunate.
The tournament’s second edition will be played on August 3, 4, 11 and 25.
Thirty-two teams will compete on a straight knock-out basis.
The first two days will be Round-of-32 and Round-of-16 action, with the quarter-finals on August 11 and the finals on August 25 at the National Stadium.
The runners-up will pocket $500,000, while the two losing semi-finalists will get $250,000 each.
Cash and other prizes will be given to the Player of the final, the Most wickets, the Most runs, and the Most Valuable Players.
Last year, Eccles All-Stars defeated V-Net Vipers in the final, while Team Corruption and Tarmac were the losing semi-finalists.
