In a poignant turn of events, veteran actor Peter Spellos, recognized for his recurring role on the NBC series “American Dreams” and his iconic voice work as Sky-Byte in 39 episodes of the animated series “Transformers: Robots in Disguise,” has passed away at the age of 69. The saddening news was confirmed by close friend Fred Olen via a heartfelt Facebook post.

Olen’s post, timestamped at 2:30 AM, expressed deep sorrow as he shared, “It is with tremendous sadness that I must report the passing of my dear friend, Peter Spellos, at 2:30 am this morning.” He went on to reminisce about the late actor’s remarkable qualities, stating, “Many of you knew Peter personally. He had more loving friends than there are stars in the sky. A gentler giant never existed. A talented actor, teacher, and wise old owl. He always made me laugh. I cannot even recall how many movies we made together, but they would probably fill a book… maybe someday they will. Goodbye, pal.”

As of now, the cause of Peter Spellos’s death remains undisclosed.

The accomplished actor’s portfolio also included notable roles in “Men in Black II.” Beyond the screen, Spellos carved a niche for himself as a prominent voice actor, contributing his talent to various anime shows such as “Naruto,” “Cowboy Bebop,” and “Digimon Adventure 02.”

According to information on his official website, Spellos dedicated years to shaping the next generation of performers, serving as an acting teacher in both Los Angeles and New York. His significant impact on the theatrical world extended to 26 years as the Artistic Director and Founder of the New Mercury Theatre Company.
