President Ali Meets with United Airlines Executives Following Inaugural Flight

Today, President Dr. Irfaan Ali held a meeting with executives from United Airlines, following the commencement of the airline’s operations between Georgetown and Houston, Texas, USA, which began yesterday.
During the meeting, President Ali emphasized Guyana’s rich tourism offerings and encouraged United Airlines to explore opportunities to incorporate locally sourced products into their services. This aligns with efforts to promote Guyana’s economy and showcase its unique offerings to international travelers.
The visiting team from United Airlines included Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances, Patrick Quayle; Senior Manager of Latin America and Caribbean Network Planning, Tom Kozlowski, and Director of International Regulatory and Government Affairs, Annalei Avancena. They also presented President Ali with a model of the United Airlines aircraft, symbolizing the partnership between the airline and Guyana.
United Airlines is set to operate four flights per week from Georgetown to Houston, providing travelers with convenient connections to numerous other destinations. Notably, the inaugural flight was piloted by Guyanese pilot Ravishankar Rameshar, marking a significant milestone for both the airline and the nation.
