The police team engaged with residents of the aforementioned villages, discussing a range of issues crucial to the communities. Among the topics addressed were:

Influx of Venezuelan Nationals: The officers sought feedback and insights from residents regarding the presence of Venezuelan nationals in the area, understanding the potential impact on the local community.

Urgent Need for Street Lights: The lack of adequate street lighting emerged as a concern, prompting discussions on strategies to address this issue and enhance safety in the villages.

Given the geographical context and the reliance on boats for transportation in these riverine communities, the Guyana Police Force provided a Fibre Glass Balahoo powered by an 85hp engine. This initiative aims to support residents by facilitating transportation for police response, outreach activities, and other essential services.

The outreach efforts underscore the commitment of law enforcement to actively engage with and address the unique challenges faced by communities along the Essequibo River. The provision of a dedicated boat further demonstrates the police force’s dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of residents in these remote areas.
