Yesterday afternoon at approximately 17:00 hrs, law enforcement officers, led by a Deputy Superintendent, conducted a targeted operation following received intelligence. The operation took place in Prince Williams Street, located in Plaisance, East Coast Demerara.
Upon arrival at the designated location, officers conducted a thorough search of an empty lot in the area. During the search, they uncovered a plastic bag concealed within the premises. The bag contained numerous small zip-lock bags containing cannabis leaves, seeds, and stems.
Upon further examination, it was determined that the quantity of narcotics discovered weighed a total of 243 grams. The seizure underscores law enforcement’s ongoing efforts to combat illicit drug activities within the region.
Investigations into the origin and ownership of the seized contraband are currently underway, as authorities work to identify and apprehend those responsible for its possession.
