In a bid to strengthen community relations and address local concerns, Commander Regional Division No. 1, Senior Superintendent Himnauth Sawh, along with Deputy Commander DSP Tappin and a team of officers, conducted outreach initiatives at the Kumaka Water Front and White Water Village in the North West District.
The outreach, held on Saturday, aimed to engage with vendors, patrons, business operators, visitors, and other stakeholders, fostering open communication and addressing issues affecting the communities. The team actively sought feedback from residents and businesses to gain insights into their concerns and challenges.
Additionally, the officers distributed informational flyers that outlined the Government’s approach to the Guyana and Venezuela Border Controversy. The flyers, distributed to residents of Mabaruma and White Water villages, contained valuable information emphasizing Guyana’s commitment to territorial integrity, with a slogan stating, “Essequibo is we own.”
The community praised the police force for fostering cohesion and instilling confidence among the citizens in response to Commander Sawh’s outreach efforts. The initiative reflects the commitment of law enforcement to work collaboratively with communities to address local issues and build a sense of solidarity around key national matters.
