In a tense match at the Everest Cricket Ground on Wednesday, the Essequibo Anacondas narrowly defeated the Berbice Caimans by two wickets in the Guyana Cricket Board National T20 League.
The Caimans struggled to post a competitive score, managing only 98 runs in their 20 overs, with Jonte Thomas top-scoring at 26 and Sachin Balagobin contributing 25.
The Anacondas’ bowlers were in fine form, with Abdul Ramsammy taking four wickets for just 16 runs and Captain Antony Adams adding 3 for 20.
The Anacondas faced challenges during the chase, losing seven wickets before reaching their target.
Captain Adams played a crucial role, scoring 30 runs, and Orrin Gibson added 29.
The match concluded dramatically when Ramnarine Chatura hit a boundary to finish unbeaten on seven, ensuring victory in 17.4 overs.
