Murder Suspect Lloyd Daniels Charged and Remanded

Lloyd Daniels, a 44-year-old Miner from One Mile Itaballi, Region #7, who was wanted in connection with a murder investigation, has been apprehended by the Police in Regional Division #7. Daniels made his court appearance today at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Crystal Lambert, where he was officially charged with the offence of Murder, contrary to Common Law.

During the court session, Daniels was not required to enter a plea, and he was remanded to prison. The matter has been adjourned to the 6th of February, 2024, for further proceedings.

Lloyd Daniels stands accused of the murder of Jimmy Ashby, which occurred between the 2nd and 3rd of January, 2024, at Falls Top, Arimu Backdam, in Region 7. The lifeless body of Jimmy Edward Ashby, a 58-year-old Miner from Barima River, North West District, was discovered in a sitting position on a wooden bench. A single stab wound, approximately two inches in length and three inches in depth, was found in the center of his upper chest. Daniels is alleged to have inflicted the fatal stab wound.
