Miner Sentenced to Two Years for Robbery on Essequibo Coast

In a recent development at the Charity Magistrate’s Court, Junior Williams, a 28-year-old miner hailing from Charity, Essequibo Coast, was convicted of robbery under arms against a 64-year-old businessman from Lot 7 Bounty Hall, Essequibo Coast.
Williams was charged under Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law Offences Act, Chapter 8:01, following an incident involving the businessman. The case was brought before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke on Monday, March 18, 2024.
During the proceedings, Williams entered a guilty plea to the charge brought against him. Subsequently, he was sentenced to a two-year term of imprisonment.
