Police ranks attached to Regional Division Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) on Saturday discovered 2,238 grammes of marijuana in an abandoned mechanic and spray painting workshop at La Grange, West Bank Demerara.
No one was arrested.
According to a statement from Police Headquarters, a team of five police ranks, acting on information received, went to the Independence Street, La Grange, West Bank Demerara premises.
A search was conducted and inside the workshop a black 10 gallon container was seen.
The container contained four bulky parcels of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be narcotics.
The parcels were taken to the La Grange Police Station, where they were weighed.
Further investigations are ongoing.
