Anthony Kissoon, a 57-year-old Guyanese of East Indian descent, was found deceased in his Georgetown apartment on Tuesday. The body was discovered by Kissoon’s cousin, Fredrick Kissoon, who reported the incident to authorities around 15:50 hours.
Fredrick Kissoon had visited the apartment after the deceased had previously mentioned feeling unwell. Upon arrival at the residence, located at Lot 72 Hadfield Street, Fredrick noticed an unpleasant odor emanating from the property. He entered the apartment and found Anthony Kissoon lying unresponsive on the floor of his bedroom.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) were dispatched to the scene, along with emergency medical services. A doctor from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation confirmed Kissoon’s death at the scene. Preliminary investigations revealed no signs of foul play or injury.
The CID team and Crime Laboratory processed the scene to gather evidence. Anthony Kissoon’s body has been transported to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Kissoon’s death.
