Investigation Underway into Fatal Accident Involving Hosororo Primary School Student

The Guyana Police Force has launched an investigation into a tragic accident that claimed the life of Terensha Piere, a 10-year-old student of Hosororo Primary School in the North West District, Region One.

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon around 16:00 hrs on the public road at Mabaruma, NWD. Piere, who was walking as a pedestrian, was involved in a collision with motorcar #PXX 7767, driven by a 23-year-old taxi driver from Hobo Hill, NWD.

Despite efforts to airlift her to Georgetown Public Hospital for advanced medical care, Piere tragically succumbed to her head injuries while undergoing treatment.

The driver of the involved motorcar is currently in police custody, cooperating with authorities as investigations into the accident continue. The Guyana Police Force urges anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist with inquiries.
