U.S. officials have confirmed that Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents, along with other law enforcement officers, raided the homes of Sean “Diddy” Combs in Los Angeles and Miami. The raids are part of an ongoing investigation into possible sex trafficking activities, according to statements released on Monday.
HSI, based in New York, stated, “Earlier today, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners.” Further details were promised as the investigation progresses.
Images of Homeland Security Investigations vehicles parked outside Combs’ home on Star Island in Miami Beach, Florida, circulated widely. The neighborhood was the focal point of the law enforcement activity.
Combs has faced multiple sexual assault allegations in recent months. Last November, two women accused the music mogul of sexual abuse, coinciding with his settlement of a separate lawsuit with singer Cassie. The lawsuits were filed just before the expiration of New York’s Adult Survivors Act, allowing victims of sexual abuse to file civil action regardless of the statute of limitations.
Douglas Wigdor, Cassie’s lawyer, expressed support for law enforcement’s actions, hoping they would hold Combs accountable for his alleged misconduct.
In December 2023, another woman accused Combs and two others of gang raping her in 2003 when she was 17 years old, as per court documents filed in United States District Court Southern District of New York. This lawsuit was filed under New York City’s gender-motivated violence protection law.
Recently, a male music producer filed a lawsuit alleging that Combs sexually assaulted him and compelled him to engage in sexual activities with prostitutes.
The situation continues to develop, with further updates expected as the investigation progresses. Nicole Sganga and Pat Milton contributed reporting to this story.
