Guyana Cup gallops closer with more corporate support

  • by

The 16th annual Guyana Cup Day, one of the nation’s biggest horse racing events, continues to attract major sponsors.  Slated for Sunday, August 11, at the Rising Sun Turf Club (RSTC), the event promises a thrilling day at the races.

Adding their names to the growing roster of supporters are real estate giant Century 21, fuel supplier Guyoil, and construction magnate Jagmohan.  These brands will gain exposure to a massive international audience exceeding three million viewers.

This year’s theme centers around family entertainment.  The Jumbo Jet Thoroughbred Racing Committee (JJTRC), promoters of the event, have shifted their focus to fostering a welcoming atmosphere for families, enthusiasts, and participants in this long-standing sport.

“Horse racing is deeply ingrained in Guyana’s fabric,” explains the JJTRC. “Guyana Cup Day has taken it a step further, making it an aspiration for everyone to be involved in a race.  Just getting their horse to the starting line is a victory, win or lose.  We provide that platform for their dreams to come true.”

The JJTRC acknowledges the critical role sponsors play in the sport’s success.  “We’re incredibly grateful to Century 21, Guyoil, Jagmohan Construction, and all our sponsors who’ve committed to making this day a success.  Sponsors, horsemen, and especially our patrons have transformed this event into a major social gathering on the national calendar.”

Kamini Ramcharran, Century 21 Guyana’s Office Training Coordinator, shared, “Sponsoring the Guyana Cup is significant for Century 21 Guyana.  It allows us to strengthen our community ties and support local traditions.  Participating in such events not only increases brand awareness but also showcases our commitment to the Guyanese people.

This sponsorship helps us connect with potential clients on a personal level and highlights our dedication to fostering growth and unity within our community. We’re proud to contribute to this event that brings people together.”

The JJTRC prioritizes the safety and well-being of children, recognizing the importance of a secure environment for families attending the event.

“We’ll have trained personnel to ensure the safety and welfare of children while they enjoy the Kids’ Fun Park, allowing families to fully experience the day’s festivities.”
