Alvin Roland, a 23-year-old resident of Good Hope, East Coast Demerara, found himself facing the consequences of his actions as he was sentenced to 36 months imprisonment for the offence of Possession of Narcotics for the purposes of Trafficking. Roland’s sentencing came yesterday (Friday) following his guilty plea to the offence.

Charged under Section 5 (1) (a) (i) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act, Chapter 10:10, Roland appeared before Magistrate O. Schmidt at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court #2, where the charge was read to him.
