In a recent operation conducted by the Guyana Police Force, a 38-year-old fisherman from Whim Village, Corentyne Berbice, has been apprehended for the possession of two single-barrel 12-gauge shotguns, both lacking serial numbers, along with five cartridges.
Acting on intelligence received, police officers proceeded to ‘Wire Dam’ in Whim, where the suspect was observed carrying a bag. A search of the individual and the bag led to the discovery of the illegal firearms and ammunition.
The suspect has been taken into custody to assist with further investigations into the matter. The apprehension of individuals involved in illegal possession of firearms is a crucial step in maintaining public safety and upholding the law.
