Duo Nabbed at Mango Landing Outpost with 990 grams of Cannabis

Mark Gentle, known as ‘Brother,’ a 31-year-old Miner, and his reputed wife, Alisa Johnson, a 28-year-old unemployed woman, residents of Georgetown, found themselves in legal trouble on January 7th, 2024, at Mango Landing Outpost in Regional Police Division #8. The arrest followed the discovery of 990 grams of Cannabis in their possession.
Both individuals were charged on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024, for Possession of Narcotics for the Purpose of Trafficking. The charges were read to them at the Mahdia Magistrate Court before Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce.
In response to the charges, Gentle and Johnson pleaded not guilty. The court granted each defendant $100,000 bail under the condition that they report to Mahdia Police Station every last Saturday of the month at 09:00 hrs.
The case has been adjourned to April 16th, 2024, for trial.
