In a heartwarming display of generosity, A. Mohamed has once again demonstrated his commitment to community upliftment by donating two grass cutters to deserving women from the East Coast of Demerara. Nalisha Holder from Ann’s Grove and Althea Newton from Buxton/Friendship were the beneficiaries of this kind gesture.
Holder, who has diligently maintained schools, playgrounds, and road shoulders along the East Coast of Demerara for nearly eight years, and Newton, engaged in similar work for five years, have long worked without the ownership of their own equipment. Recognizing their dedication and the need for support, Mohamed stepped in to provide them with new grass cutters to aid in the development of their personal businesses.
Expressing his delight, Mohamed emphasized the significance of breaking societal barriers, as grass cutting has traditionally been dominated by men. He was pleased to empower Holder and Newton in a field where women are underrepresented.
In addition to the equipment donation, Mohamed offered valuable financial advice aimed at helping the women grow their businesses and manage their finances effectively.
Both Holder and Newton expressed their gratitude for the generous donation, promising to use the grass cutters with care as they endeavor to expand their trade. Mohamed’s act of benevolence has not only provided practical support but has also inspired hope and empowerment within the community.
