Armed Robbery at Natashas Superbet Suspects Apprehended

Police are currently investigating an armed robbery that took place at Natasha’s Superbet in Zeelugt New Scheme, East Bank Essequibo. The incident occurred at approximately 19:35 hrs yesterday (Tuesday) and involved two armed men.
During the robbery, the suspects targeted both the establishment and individuals present, resulting in significant losses. Natasha Roberts, a 34-year-old Businesswoman and owner of the Superbet outlet, was robbed of $109,000 in cash. Additionally, a 20-year-old Cashier was relieved of his gold chain valued at $100,000, an iPhone 8 worth $80,000, and a black Sports haversack valued at $5,000, totaling $185,000.
Other victims included a 34-year-old Barber who lost a Samsung Galaxy cellular phone valued at $60,000 and $10,000 in cash, as well as a 42-year-old Carpenter who had his Samsung Galaxy phone, valued at $42,000, and a Superbet ticket valued at $3,000 stolen, amounting to $45,000 in total losses. Furthermore, a 34-year-old taxi driver had his iPhone 8, valued at $50,000, taken during the incident.
According to enquiries, the suspects, both wearing face masks and one armed with a handgun, entered the Superbet outlet and demanded personal belongings from the victims. They seized the mentioned items, including the day’s sales kept in the Cashier booth, before fleeing the scene in a navy blue Toyota Fielder wagon.
Thanks to the diligent efforts of the Police in Regional Division #3, two suspects have been apprehended, and two of the stolen phones have been recovered. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to bring all perpetrators to justice and recover the remaining stolen items.
