West Indies Women’s cricketer Chinelle Henry ties the knot

  • by

West Indies Women’s all-rounder Chinelle Henry has officially tied the knot with her partner, Corretta Dyes, marking a joyous new chapter in her life.

The couple exchanged vows on November 9, capping a romance that blossomed after meeting in late December 2022 and culminating in an engagement in August 2023.

Henry shared the news with her fans on Instagram, posting a heartwarming message, “Now we can hang out forever,” accompanied by photos from their special day.

The announcement was soon celebrated by Henry’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL) franchise, who posted on Instagram, “The beginning of a beautiful partnership. Heartiest congratulations from the #RoyalsFamily.”

At 29, the Jamaican-born Henry has made a significant mark in West Indies women’s cricket.

Known for her athleticism, powerful lower-order batting, and skill as a medium-fast bowler, she has been an integral part of the West Indies squad since her debut in limited-overs cricket in 2013-14.

After initially breaking into the team, Henry’s career reached new heights when she was selected for the 2018 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and then awarded her first central contract in 2019.

Henry’s hard work and dedication to her craft were evident after the COVID-19 break, when she caught the eye of former West Indies men’s fast bowler Corey Collymore.

Working with Collymore at a camp in Antigua, she refined both her batting and bowling, developing into a true all-rounder.

In early 2024, she showcased her skill by taking 6-31, including a hat-trick, against Windward Islands in the Women’s Super50 Cup, which helped secure Jamaica’s title.

Her recent achievements also include a key role in Barbados Royals’ title win in the 2023 Women’s Caribbean Premier League.

With her stellar form, Henry has earned a place in the West Indies Women’s squad for the upcoming 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, as she continues to prove her value as a powerful force in women’s cricket. (Sportsmax)
