The Guyana Badminton Association has confirmed a 20-member team to participate in the 2024 Caribbean Regional Badminton Confederation (CAREBACO) Junior Tournament to be held in Oranjestad, Aruba, from August 22-25.
The promising and upcoming athletes will compete in the Under-11 to Under-19 categories across Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles events, the Guyana Badminton Association has announced.

The Guyana Badminton Association, in a press release, noted: “Our badminton team comprises talented junior and senior athletes who have demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication to the sport. With rigorous training and countless hours of practice, we have achieved significant milestones in regional and international competitions, including the CAREBACO (Junior and Senior Tournaments), South American Games, Central and Caribbean Games (CAC), Pan American Games, and the Commonwealth Games. Now, we are eager to showcase our talent once again at the international level.”
The CAREBACO tournament in Aruba will attract top junior badminton players from around the Caribbean, offering the Guyanese a unique opportunity to compete against elite athletes and gain invaluable experience.
“Participating in such a prestigious event not only enhances our skills, but also promotes camaraderie and sportsmanship among players from different backgrounds,” the Badminton Association added.
The Badminton Association further stated that attendance at the tournament would not have been possible without the assistance of the dedicated parents and friends of the association.
